hailing from holland, ekman has been haunting the dancefloors for some time now with his deformed acid influenced dark and nasty slow electro and techno tunes. his sound fits in perfect in between drugged out techno and new beat / early techno stuff. even some classic electro touches are in there. simply excellent for your not so average dance party, but who likes average anyway.

staatsfeinde… dutch synth duo staatseinde finally releases their debut ep on vinyl… after two 7”s on enfant terrible they present this 6 track ep… stripped down through the years from a band to a duo the sound also changed… the songs on this ep are more up-tempo, louder, more beat orientated… and also darker as before mostly… and… for sure more dance floor minded… expect some classic minimal synth tunes in line with el aviador dro and welle: erdball for example but also more punchy tracks with ebm influences… staatseinde 2.0 has arrived!

hero wouters is a dutch artist who has been active since 1950. through the years he has been involved in many (music) projects. his work in the field of electronic music ranges from synthpop to experimental music. some people might know him from his collaborations with the legendary pink dots and edward ka-spel. other people might know him from his contributions to the obscure contactdisk vinyl series or his appearance on the legendary dutch ding-dong tape label. featured on this lp is work by hero wouters from 1982, 1984, and 1986. most of the material was written for a dutch film (‘een zaak van leven en dood’) and a theatre play (‘laios’). the music has been (partly) released on cassette on hero’s own label herophone. now it is for the first time available on vinyl. the music has been restored from the original tapes and mastered for vinyl with great care not to loose the original feeling. below you can find soundclips for the tracks but we feel these do not give a really good impression of the record. the music (and the record) have to be heard in total (and as a whole) to be fully experienced and appreciated. we are proud to present this beautiful and simply fantastic music by a dutch artist that deserves more attention. the wonderful cover artwork is a drawing by maaike.

luc van acker is all except an obscure musician. already from his solo records in the early 80’s he has been building a name for himself as a multi-talented musician and performer. when you are in the middle of the night, you’ll see the revolting cocks. the session on this record is from 1981 and thus a very early piece of music in the discography of luc van acker. for this occasion he has performed with live electronics, a violin and various other gadgets and tools. the music must be seen as somewhere in between old style industrial music (thus experimental) and modern classical music. this live performance takes the listener from rhythmic to the sound of the sound. the session has been tranfered from the original tape and is edited and re-mastered to make it available for a new audience. the liner notes have been written by luc van acker himself.

do you remember adolf filter… the swedish minimal electronics/synth duo? the 7” “the other hand on the knob” (petit enfant, 2008) is now a cult classic… the duo were also part of three compilations on enfant terrible… and now after all these years there is this new 7”… not truly new as these are tracks re-discovered from the et archive… but these two dark dance floor tracks are still way on top of the game… powerful and raw but catchy too… minimal elektro for both the old followers and new fans of the style…

twins is matt weiner who is also known for his featureless ghost project and of course as the head of the dka records label… his project twins is not limited to one specific style but the dominant characteristic is the synth driven sound… other influences in the mix are various styles of dance music and a healthy dose of arty post-punk… this new mini album “rather not” is the perfect blending of all of this… due to this it is on the one hand a classic minimal elektro record but at the same time a rather modern piece of electronic music… catchy tunes and surprising twists go hand in hand and make up for an authentic and original record… which is more stunning every time you play it!

antlers mulm has been sending his melancholy songs and soundscapes into the world for many years now… some years ago one song was featured on the “radio resistencia” compilation (et001) and finally there is this 7 inch on enfant terrible… the two tracks are coming from the last album “touring the moon bog” which was released on cd and tape earlier this year… both tunes featured on vinyl here are the most up-tempo and rhythm driven ones from that album… recommended to fans of solitude fx but also those who are into new order… it is all melancholy, dreamy and catchy… what else could you wish for?

roberto auser is known for his wide range of sounds and releases on viewlexx and his own ausland label. next to that he is part of kaval (vrystaete). even though his releases until now go from italo disco inspired electro to exotica and dark jazz influenced electronics his production is always rather smooth. for enfant terrible he shows his raw and dirty side. “faceless future” is an old school minimal elektro record done with analogue synths with a real industrial and post-punk attitude. this record pays tribute to (early) cabaret voltaire, (early) front 242 and (later-day) le syndicat electronique. simply minimal electronics as it should sound… rough and unpolished…

among many other things saralunden proves to be a dismal disco star! on this ep she sounds like a stripped down and darker counterpart of sally shapiro, presenting moody and sexy music which is in some ways similar to the italo influenced stuff chromatics is doing and with the same twisted erotic vibe of pulp. this is dirty disco and we like to dance to it.

popsimonova is the new upcoming queen of electro (wave). her tracks are cold but with lots of energy. intelligent constructed tracks to make you move but also to make you take a step back and let the music work on you in different ways. this is what they call electro from beyond the former iron curtain.
