THE FUTURE
12 Inch
13.04.17

23.03.17
with a skillet of brooding, deep & melodic releases in his wake for the lobster main label, moomin’s closer imprint and an exceptionally beautiful self-released tape, royer returns to the lobster family with a clutch of super deep, dusty, planes-of-light-through-the-curtain house music that channel a nostalgic optimism into it’s brooding & humming elemental core.
from the fading melancholy memories of clqsse22 (simple version) and it’s more bubbling & swaggering sunday lit reffaaax counterpart, to the sunlight rays cutting and refracting from the facets of d’orr22. each track finds it’s own slot on the spectrum of deep, warm house music.
closer healyrslfw_lee nods to the more beat-oriented royer works, heavy sampling a playful short piano loop and cutting in spoken word segments.

LOST TAPES
12 Inch
05.07.16
after the nuclear arms test that was the brain poacher black label, canary islands resident gilmer galibard returns to the lobster family via lucid, murky sub-label mörk. taking a much more languid and contemplative approach to his followup, “lost tapes” finds itself washed ashore on a waves of warm, translucent, salt-infused techno and house.
radiating from the online world through a limited batch of puristic, meddling drum-programmed experiments, this three-track debut is a pure tour de force in experimental, jazz-infused, worm-hole techno and house. the undulating 808 underpins the overtly spectral sound-design canvas deployed across the ep, from the scatter-delayed percussive proto-congas on *-* to the piano melancholia employed on *--* and the erratic time-stretched mood-shift that pivots around the centre of the 11 minute jam *---*.
delving further into what makes this reverent vancouver trio tick, 1800hs reveal a deeper, smoother side to their production that still packs a punch, whilst exploring more tender themes. twitching, rhythmic acid lines flicker over water-tight drums on *dreamer*, crystal synths rise out of the raw depths on *heldled*, and *drained* ends the proceedings on a melancholic yet emotionally ambiguous note, floating through seas of illuminating pads and steadily drifting towards the horizon.
HEART BEAT TAKEAWAY

INFINITE DREAMS
12 Inch
28.08.15

UNMANNED VEHICLE
12 Inch
18.06.15
warm, washy chords collide with bubbling, subterranean acid and crunchy drum work on this subtly epic debut from swiss newcomer, tissu, with his trippy delay-drenched synths giving everything an astral-aquatic quality.
the second mörk release finally gets out of the blocks, helmed by italian analogue explorer raw m.t. with some seriously heavy cuts under his belt, we coaxed him out of hiding for a varied 12- of low-slung house, dreamy beachside dreams and hammering arpeggiated techno, cut deep and heavy over two sides of wax. la duna is a deep 4am roller. murky and shrouded in analogue warmth, it steadily aches and strains through passages of pad filled delirium whilst the percussive echoes of lost nights swirl and clatter. untitled is a beachside dreamy acid number. steady slow grooves undulate under tender vocals with slowly yearning pads and deep acid bringing the light out of the darkness. flipping over to the b-side, strike ups the ante with some seriously driving war-game techno, drenching in arpeggiated madness and washed over with frenetic acid lines.
REMEMBER US (BLACK REPRESS)
12 Inch
25.11.14
lobster theremin launch their first sublabel proper, heralding a darker, murkier and deeper sound on their newly minted mörk imprint. retaining its mother labels passion for championing newcomers, mörk launches with a debut release from young netherlandic producer nthng. cultivating a sound that sits somewhere between prince of denmark and early claro intelecto with splashes of clone influence, nthngs stripped-back techno walks fuzzy, shrouded paths through nolstagic moments in time. at times almost drowning, his engulfing sound is a raw reminder of the power of subtlety and the use of meditative looping along with a rough-around-the-edges production style has led to an incredibly moving debut work.
