As Idle Hands reaches its 30th release, it gives us great pleasure to welcome rising talent Matt Karmill to the fold. To date Matt has delivered a strong body of work to labels such as Beats In Space and Yume, as well as dropping the cryptically titled - - - - album on Popnoname’s PNN label last year. This three track EP marks his first appearance on the Idle Hands roster after earning his stripes on the shelves of the shop, and he will be following this record up with an album for us later in the year. The hooky leftfield house constructions on Play It continue the thread of adventurous releases Idle is championing in 2015, following Strategy’s Seeds Of Paradise LP and Leif’s broken beat excursions. With a balance struck between experimentation and satisfaction, Matt has delivered a record that continues the all important tradition of timeless music that the label always strives for.
