New York experimentalists Sheik N Beik continue on form as they follow up records from Japans Keita Sano, Legowelt & Xosar and Jeffrey Scott with a bold and atmospheric 12inch from Jerry Riggs & Maxwell Church a.k.a Hermans. Hailing from Toronto - Hermans specialise in their own brand of esoteric Techno that lends them perfectly to a release on Sheik N Beik. Their Things Change EP slots neatly into the catalogue with its blend of spooky melodies and analogue drum work. Diana (How Youve Changed) kicks things off with an infectious vocal loop and juddering drum patterns. Brooklyn’s Max Pask then follows up with his take on Diana which sets 909 drums over a thick, burning acid line. Endless Toil then follows up with a tightly wound groove built with metallic whacks and frazzled, flexing synth tones. Forget The Past then brings the package to a thumping close as manic synth lines dart between crunching drums in another strong addition to Sheik N Beiks catalogue.
