tv showw is a new record label from paris. we are very proud to launch the label with an ep from one of chicago s most prolific and inventive electronic musicians : jamal moss a.k.a. hieroglyphic being or i.b.m., among others. jai/mahl is his fresh new alias especially created for this ep. the three tracks are made for the dancefloor (four-to-the-floor) while not diluting his signature oddity made of sonic textures and damaged rhythms. moss calls his style -synth expressionism- or -rhythmic cubism.-

los angeles based natan h and malta based artist owen jay return as gauss with their first ep of 2017. entitled resonator it offers more deep music with an electronic soul and is their fifth ep for their cultured label gauss ltd. the title track opens things up with a crunchy and impactful mix of weighty dub drums and spangled techno chords. it s a heavy track that builds in momentum and is sure to mangle minds with its skewed stabs and wiry electronics. shifted is a more fierce techno track with urgency in the kicks and a sense of anger in the coarse little snare explosions. more gurgling synths add weight and this one is a real stomper as a result. cutting ever more loose, odyssey is a mix of idm sound design, soulful synth smears and percolating electro tinged drums that are slick and futuristic. least squares completes this techno picture with spitting hits and claps, underwater chords and acidic sonar pulses that soothe the mind. this is an expansive ep that marks an exciting evolution in gauss s sound.

rod malmok (aka rod from previous klockworks fame) kicks off the eponymous label with his debut-album back to square one.

new 030303 release. john heckle s first one for 030303 starts off deliciously with translate- being a moody and melodic and bouncer that caters to a twisted dance floor. terix, the opener on the b-side is a beautiful reminder of derrick mays detroit, rhythm is rhythms kao-tic harmony in particular. the end of this record then, is like the end of most nights: with lots of melodies going on and a stomping rhythm hear me is by far the most mind bending track of this excellent 12inch.
