with over 25 years in the game, andré galluzzi can respectfully be awarded the veteran badge of honour. a mark of experience and longevity for an artist who has, as they say, been there and done it all. today howeversees the german take on a new adventure, with his debut release for josh winks ovum recordings. as a dj, andré has held residencies at three of germany and the worlds most influential clubs - tresor, ostgutand berghain. been the driving force behind his own we play vinyl party. managed his own taksi (along side paul brtschitsch) and aras record labels and featured his own music on such highly acclaimed imprints as cocoon, cadenza, ostgut ton and highgrade. back in 2001, having released his seminal mix compilation, ‘im garten’, andré embarked on a new series of events that regularly saw him play intoxicating sets of up to 10-hours. the parties went by the name of submerge and those infamous dj sets have inspired his beautiful brace for ovum today. the metronomic kick drum of the title track introduces us to its immersive groove, whilst bubbling and elasticated fx vie for our attention, adding a sublime swing to submerge. on the flip, bold, by name and nature, ups the swing ante with its fierce acidic melody, shimmering hats and rasping snare. support from: josh wink, pan pot, joris voorn, dj hell, huxley, doc martin, till von sein, anja schneider, &me, catz n dogz and more!

there is a certain dynamic that emerges whenever andre galluzzi and dana ruh pair up to create a record. with last year s >freya / mauersegler< split ep on ostgut ton, the two have already hit up some of the most prestigious labels in the electronic music landscape. tracks that are upbeat, driving, and, most of all, fresh have characterized their co-productions, which now have aras as a home. taking its cues from their label nights at berlin s panorama bar, galluzzi and ruh have solidified aras into an imprint based around expanding upon the creative energy that both share. their first release, >trambolla<, harmonizes each artist s approach into a grooving whirlwind that showcases their ability as producers as well as live musicians.starting off with the title track >trambolla<, the ep begins with tribal beats and infectious arrangements that seamlessly build upon each other along the course of the a-side. grooving from the start, it is the kind of track where the listener or the dj gets into the vibe right away. the percussion of >trambolla< especially stands out amongst the latin-tinged bongos, hi-hats, and hand claps that interchangeably come in and out of the track, a journey of its own at 9 minutes. >thelema<, the b-side, contrasts with the lightness of the a-side and demonstrates galluzzi and ruh s equal comfort in creating darker and heavily pounding tracks. the ten minute track grows out of a simple beat and growls ever louder as it takes in more intensity with its cascade of filters, delays, and booming bass. aside from the hard edge of >thelema<, it also provides a preview into the live set that the two artists are about to debut together.

cocoon recordings is proud to present the latest instalment in their dots & pearls compilation series. for the first time, this third edition-which is a retrospective of sorts for the label- will come in mixed cd format and will feature some brand new and unreleased tracks that will also come as a 12&#8243,,, vinyl release. the artist mixing it up this time is daniel stefanik who also includes four of his own edits.
