beta librae is bailey hoffman, a producer from kansas city, living in new york city, who co-operates the extremely vital technofeminism residency with umfang at bossa nova civic club, and has previously released tapes on 1080p and lillerne tape club, as well as a single on physical therapy’s allergy season. incienso is extremely hyped to release “sanguine bond”, the debut lp from beta librae. an extremely singular ambi-tech-no-house album, encompassing all the deepest vibes of the rave - warm and fuzzy afterglow dub mixes, emo-ambient ‘ludes, yogic, tribal downtempo vibes and all, mixed with love by the one and only!

super talent ancient methods lays down an incredible remix collection of the excellent luster & beta evers track “eternal”, which was originally released on 7” through label zerohour doom & glamour back in 2011.

the sub label of sonic groove, -sonic groove experiments-, returns after a 4 year hiatus with a stellar re-release of the electrowave classic -eruption- by beta evers. originally released as a limited edition 12- back in 2005 on beta s own kommando 6 label. now in 2017 the original pressing goes for quite a fortune on the record collecting market. often exceeding €60 for a mint copy. for the first time in a dozen years this release is available on vinyl in its original running order but with very sleak new artwork for the normal asking price of a new store bought 12-.

peripheral minimal is proud to announce the imminent release of, beta evers / spatial relation , a six-track 12- e.p., that also features, heinrich mueller of dopplereffekt. the six tracks contain the coldest of minimal synth and technoid darkness, underpinned by a melancholic sentiment. this is the third release by spatial relation on peripheral minimal, and the first by beta evers.

it’s hard to get a handle on nigerian musicians nash dodoo, charlie cuul and jonas caulley. in 1980 they released an album of face-melting gospel boogie as the bml chapels. and in the same year, calling themselves the beta yama group, they put out free love, a belated love letter to san francisco’s summer of love and an album altogether focused on more worldly concerns. free love is a small slice of haight-ashbury transported to the polygram studios in lagos. ‘te revoir’ is mamas and papas jamming with sergeant pepper’s beatles. ‘free love’ offers a respectful nod towards je t’aime-era serge gainsbourg. sure, ‘revolution’ gets hard and funky and ‘rain’ flirts briefly with a calypso reggae sound, but the majority of the album is cheesecloth and flowers in your hair. insanely rare – and worth buying for the freaky cover art alone – free love is a funky, reverb heavy call for love, peace and sweet, sweet loving. what more could you want from an album?

the first vinyl record from betagamma bears the name of the most extraordinary and fascinating reptile. it is no coincidence. the imprint is given by both betagammas main occupation and his love of minimalism and techno. either way, the track references science. a slightly oddish, popping groove as if someone opened up a terrarium cage. the record features interesting and crazy remixes, clearly everyone has their own geckos in the attic.

megadon betamax as we have come to expect from the megamax, falling is all analogue warmth and big bottom boogie love. this mid- tempo track is laced with lush synths, ethereal soulful vocals and a twinge of surf guitar. dj raw sugar goes deep with a dusky, dubbed out remix that will have every head nodding. a megadon classic from vr002 is revived by austrian talent lesale, who turned in a version of he cant love you that couldnt be ignored. sweet sweet sweet!

the track >saona< produced by the trio farina-carra-el moujid has two different versions. the karim razak mix with a pure electro-sound, the second one called lysark remix more minimal oriented.

amazing limited reissue of an obscure disco synth bomb from the early 80s! the connection between daryl cameron of eye beta rock and 4lux head honcho gerd goes back to the early 90s. at this time gerd was recording for detroits malego records. chicago legend armando toured europe to do dj, set up by ep connection in collaboration with the dutch seesaw crew in 1992. through armando, gerd got acquainted with daryl camerons boogie stuff. daryl was in the mix with loads of chicago producers such as farley jackmaster funk and armando himself. just a 400 copies limited edition run!! no repress on this big 80s synth boogie track!

arguably one of the most acclaimed and loved bands of the past 20 years, by both fans and their musical peers alike, the beta band formed in st. andrews, scotland, in 1996. innovative and singular, their unique musical and aesthetic approach to everything they did set them far apart from their musical contemporaries. together for a relatively short period of time, the three albums and three eps they released between 1996 and 2004 would nonetheless help define them as one of the most exciting and cherished bands of their generation. after acquiring the beta bands catalogue last year, because music will reissue their releases, starting on september 14th with a double cd best-of compiling all their best hits and a live show recorded at the shepherds bush empire (london) in 2004. because music will also celebrate at the same time the 20th anniversary of their 1998 compilation the three eps by releasing a deluxe vinyl edition gathering in a slipcase the eps champion versions, the patty patty sound and los amigos del beta bandidos with remastered tracks and coloured vinyls.
