up next on amsterdam’s format label is a four-tracker featuring original cuts and remixes by matrixxman, echologist and label boss juan sanchez himself.
the fourteenth format release is definitely one not to miss out on, as it offers material from some of today s most sought-after techno heads. up first is expiration, a joint effort from matrixxman and echologist. this one combines matrixxman’s signature bass and echologist’s one-of-a-kind dub techno flavors across a very trippy canvas. format’s juan sanchez follows with a dark and synth-heavy rework of the track. on fokus, juan displays a more melodic cut propelled by a playful groove. closing things off, matrixxman and echologist turn fokus into a crushing techno track filled with sweeping fx.
format continues with another strong release that’s destined to do the damage.

amsterdam-based artist and format-label honcho juan sanchez himself delivers a quartet of tracks carrying his signature sound for the label’s thirteenth release. never one to settle for the ordinary, juan sanchez’ latest outing follows a more conceptual approach to techno. each track adds its own flavor to the mix, with the ep as a whole being a combination of dubby and dancefloor-fused material. synth and bass arps, stripped grooves and driving drums are the main ingredients of juan’s sound, all of which come together across this ep’s four-track canvas. the result is a balanced mix of both dubby and dancefloor-tinged techno laced with experimental twists and turns. with his new release, juan adds another quality slice of techno to the format roster.

fr011 delivers three techno bombs that perfectly reflect the format sound. things kick off with despite the..., which combines deep grooves to staccato bass pulses designed for peak-time moments. spanish dj/producer aiken delivers a superb remix that is propelled by a nasty industrial groove and coated in dark atmospheres. closing the release is the sinister in the dark, which is as deep as it is trippy...

stepping up for its landmark tenth release is label honcho juan sanchez, who drops four slices of heavy techno funk. over the course of nine releases, format records have established itself as a very credible source for quality techno. its tenth release again perfectly captures that frisky format sound.
first up is serpent, a mid-tempo and bass-laden belter that’s followed by the darker, minimal-tinged qualia. a different place merges detroit-esque elements with tones of european techno, after which things close with no-beatsall-fx stubborn synth.
the tenth format release is a perfect snapshot of the label’s signature sound, while paving the way for many more good things to come.

nice price deal !!! this ep starts off with a track by bla bla labelboss daniel sanchez feat. cardace & perazini called snor. this is a peaktime monster track without any compromises! has all the ingredients to blow you away! right from the start you feel this groove we all love so much building up till the kick drops and then its dance till you drop! some nice breaks with lot of atmosphere , superb vocal stab and nice percussion lines all work together to make this track the bomb. this will raise those hands in pure pleasure second track is done by juan sanchez and he did a great job in creating something special for sensation! lovely vocal and killer beats here. and when that piano loop kicks in it really takes it to the next level with a rocking break that will truly get to your inner senses!

coming up next on format is a new ep from the label s head honcho juan sanchez including remixes by jeroen search and andre kronert. the diffy ep marks juan s first format ep released under his own name, and it s definitely one that will turn heads on the floor. the original version of diffy and mirage reflect juan s trademarked minimal but hard-as-nails techno sound: staccato kicks, nervously rattling percussions and looped synth pulses make up the fundaments of both tracks, locking in all ingredients for proper techno clubbing.up first on the remix tip is renowned techno veteran jeroen search, whose remix of diffy is a chunky piece of stripped floor funk with subtle hints of detroit techno. following up is a rerub by andre kronert, who drops a beefy slab of mid-tempo techno that s particularly heavy on the dub side of things. 007 does have a license to kill for a reason, you know...

juan sanchez delivers his first single on the raw sounding drumcode limited with two monster sounding tracks. both tracks represent the gritty, tough side of the drumcode spectrum and deliver two peak time tracks that will finish a dancefloor off. using filtering hats, low end rumbles and outlandish beeps, juan sanchez encapsulates the sound of drumcode limited.

juan sanchez, the amsterdam based producer with spanish background, makes his wolfskuil debut with an impressive 2 track single. the freakshow ep is an examplary showcase of what juan is capable of. two peaktime tracks, but both with different angles. the title track delivers exactly what you expect from a song with that particular title. freaky, out of control basslines and over the top rhythmic exersises, with loads of subtle hints, clever programming and detailed edits form the freaked out basis for juans vocals. no 4 bars are the same, but the track is coherent from beginning untill the end. prepare to rip up floors with this one!23 positions shows a different side of juan. its carrying his trademark production style, but 23 positions takes a more melodic approach. beautifully arranged strings sweep in and out througout the track, accompanied by a non stop rolling groove. again there is a remarkable eye for detail, clever programming and spot on sound engineering, wich makes this tune explode from any pa.
