lovebirds, dove sei - is a dancefloor killer with a touch of 80s italo vintage feel created during his odyssey last year collecting classic analog synthesizers like the highly regarded arp 2600 and the prophet 5. since adriano celentano was not available he just skipped it in finding a replacement and recorded his own vox! thats how dove sei sounds!

for record store day 2017 razor-n-tape presents icarus, an original song by lovebirds, with remixes from tall black guy, moods, and jkriv in a striking double 7inch package. giving the shine to their 45 series for this years record store day, rnt welcomes back lovebirds aka sebastian doering with a slice of chilled-out analog soul. although primarily known for his nu-disco and house productions, lovebirds is a seasoned hand at all things deep, and icarus shows the smoky late-nite side of basti s skilled production style. an all-original tune, icarus layers jazzy vintage electric pianos over restrained but head-nodding percussion, with galliano s soulful vocal soaring above it all. the ever consistent tall black guy delivers a 90 s-esque boom-bapper of a mix, with an added verse from 80 s babies for good measure. moods works the track into a slo-mo stomper on his mix, complete with stuttering synth bass and driving percussion. and rounding out the package is rnt s jkriv, with a beachy stripped-down retro-boogie remix perfect for those warm-weather months to come. each mix gets its own side in this double 7inch pack, with stunning full color artwork, making it a truly special package perfect for both collectors and djs alike

with the back catalogue burned to cinders and the last few dog eared copies at freerange hq looking more than a little shabby, heres your opportunity to grab some of the labels highlights on the blackstuff. the complete boxsets have all gone now but you can still buy the box with part one and add the individual releases. here we have part two including bassforts dixtritt (never previously available on vinyl), axel bomans remix of lovebirds (also, for the first time on vinyl) and charles websters classic deep house reworking of subjekts come on.

last year has been a little more quiet about dem birds but since they landed in their new studio the output is back where it should be. the demand for lovebirds is higher than ever especially after his current deephouse bomb featuring stee downes beautiful vocals on >want you in my soul< (winding road). the honeybadger ep referrs to the most badass animal on this planet. it simply doesnt give a shit about anything. and this is something lovebirds can relate to very well. should we also talk about music? well, maybe … >chasing things< is a deephouse peaktime funkmonster. its full on lovebirds sound - deephouse u can seriously party to and loose your cool. no 808 bassdrums either!! >running backwards< is a slick midtempo rat with some pretty badass drums and a kenny >fuckin< powers bassline that actually deserves the name, bitch! not to mention the heavenly breakdown with some of the smoothest guitars in this universe! last part of this heavy threesome is called >gives a shit< and is a nice oldskool tune with a heavy >let no man put asunder< bassline on top of some moodyman-ish chord stabs … ah, and i think brother marvin made it also on this one!!

this latest lovebirds ep on winding road records is another absolute masterpiece of chilled house soul and deep rave. a really excellent package and a must-have lovebirds release. on the a-side track, >want you in my soul<, lovebirds teams up with vocalist stee downes. stees acclaimed debut album >all in a day< was released on sonar kollektiv in 2008, and who has worked and performed alongside the likes of motor city drum ensemble, amp fiddler, dj spinna, and bugz in the attic. their collaboration for winding road is a driving vocal house bomb that will rock your world. the b-side kicks off with the dirty tech tune >give me a dubf*ck<, an injection of dark rave that has been causing serious explosions on dancefloors for a few months now. perfect chemical material for the harder floors. the b2 track is hot toddys remix of >want you in my soul< - a chrome-plated disco dimension to the track by crazy p man chris todd, which was licensed to tensnakes >in the house< compilation before it even saw the light of day. hot stuff indeed.

its been a while for mr lovebirds and also the label teardrop to serve some fresh slices of homemade house jam. well, we think it better not to put out every bonus beat we program and rather wait until we have something that really deserves to be thrown in todays pool of musical randomness. do we sound bitter again? sorry, for that … must be the age. so … love & happiness. yeah, i want that and probably everybody does … well here ya go: its a slick slow house bomb with proper oldskool 909 drums and some sliding portamento chords that wont never leave your head!! at least until the breakdown when this track takes you even further back in time to that beautiful intro that has rarely been used more beautifully. its been tested for months now by vincenzo, phonique and mr bird himself and devestated every floor so far. let me put it this way - this is biiiig!!!! flipside is the rain - classic 90ies deephouse with a touch of kerri which we all love right? this has the typical lovebirds warmth that we all need in these modern techno times. and in this autumn too. none other than mr steve bug took care of the remix and delivered a superb very 90ies new yorican style version. keeping the warmth he added some percussion to it and turned this into a nice builder. enough talk … we are very excited about this release and looking forward to your full love on this one. play it loud and everywhere!! and maybe even chart it if youre a good lad!!

fresh into 2010 folks ! our good-looking and >in-demand-man< sebastian doering returns with another fantastic three track ep. this time mister lovebirds is back on his very own label knee deep recorings. hes laying down deluxe disco delights via a fine frenzy and hypnotic tune called >the ride<, followed by mellifluous and vibes driven >mandrill<,while <dancin< is a soulful stomper - an hommage to the great producer team johnick. so, thank you for funking up the young year, mister lovebird

supported by laurent garnier, ben watt, dj yellow, shur i kan, nils nurnberg, florian meindl, mark knight, axwell!!! looking through my harddrive i just realized that this track is more than 2 years old ... shame on us!!! a few people were lucky enough to got it sent back then and the feedback was already exciting! the original version is a pure deephouse anthem drenched with pure soul! starting off with a moody and dark filtered string it leads into a pumpin deephouse groove ready to climax into a beautiful rhodes chord progression and that lovely m.u.s.i.c. vocal. its a perfect blend between deephouse and soul - pretty rare these days and set to become a future classic!! fred everythings mix is slightly more on the disco tip, tight drums and arrangement and a perfect addition to this package. finally we have another colab between the 2 label heads - called electric girl. its a sweet little disco midtempo groover with the typical trademarks of those 2 guys! enjoy this beautiful release - many people have been asking for this for quite a while!!
