this highly prolific uk drum and bass producer returns with his second tempo records release. this work sees alex judd rhythmic tweaks and overlays of texture with intricate melodies, heavy dub basslines giving the tracks a live & energetic feel.

to celebrate the 10th vinyl release on lossless music, soul intent delivers 4 cuts on dark and moody drum and bass as only he can. the title track “the tide” sees soul intent collaborate with label regular and dark vibe master paragon. “cypher” hails the first production outing from ben repertoire (from the repertoire label) who happens to also be lossless graphic designer and fellow lover of co-op pickle pork pies. also on the b-side is a solo effort from soul intent called “lose yourself” which demonstrates yet more of his love of that classic headz sound, turning heads whenever it’s played. pressing on solid blue, black, and clear mixed vinyl.

lossless music’s leftfield sublabel exkursions is back with its second vinyl release. exkur002 features the incredible talent of james morton aka concealed identity. after hearing james’ 12” on narratives soul intent tracked james and proposed james remix “no answers” which is did in amazing style. james also offered up a stunning brand new solo track called “zahir”, a 7 minute journey into cinematic 170bpm. soul intent finishes up the 12” with a 140bpm garage/bass music monster called “tribes” via odyssia alias.

dope plates is back with more old skool influenced breakbeat joy. the a side sees soul intent go head to head with acid lab with their mash up track clash of headz. on the b side we have a vinyl exclusive track from soul intent called move which is jammed packed full of 90s house influences while mystery alias pepsi slammer brings some serious classic slammin vinyl flavours with his track mike alert.

after 10 years of releasing on some of the most respected labels in the scene including 31 records, commercial suicide and samurai music, soul intent is to release his first solo album via his own imprint, lossless music. the album features collaborations with chromatic, jazz vocalist sue mae, as well as his old dataset band mate chris gittins.

2015 has been a busy year for soul intent. relocating from nottingham to bromley, releasing -the fruit club ep- on lossless in march, his -wanna fight ep- dropped on klute s commercial suicide in august, the sci-fi themed -replicant- marked lossless music s first digital only release in october and his -late night sleaze ep- has been awarded mixmag s dnb tune of the month (nov 15 issue). on top of all this alex is about to launch two (yes two!!) sub-labels for lossless music. the first of these is exkursions. exkursions will cater for the deeper, more experimental side of dnb & electronic music. though concentrating it s tempo focus around the 170 mark exkursions will also be taking explorations down into slower soundscapes. the first release is a 3 tracker from soul intent and the tracks have already turned the heads of respected selectors including doc scott, presha, loxy and logistics. we won t say much for than that, we ll let the music do the talking.

skeleton recordings are proud to announce the release of the skeleton xxv project to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the label which originally launched in 1992. this is a five part collectors edition to celebrate 25 years of skeleton recordings. volumes 01 to 04 sleeve artwork when put together will form a big piece of artwork of the revamped original skeleton recordings logo that will look good on any wall. volume 05 will be a picture disc. the full digital album will only become available once all five volumes have been released. the project has taken just over 12 months to put together and is definitely something for the collectors. it has been generating quite a buzz within the underground circuit the closer it gets to release date and has been getting some really good support from the likes of bailey, storm and ray keith to name a few.
