der italiensiche dj und produzent gerardo frisina kehrt mit zwei neuen eklektischen tracks auf schema records zurück. passion dance ist ein fesselnder jazz tune, der stark afro-kubanisch beeinflusst ist und mit einem gewissen house-feeling um die ecke kommt. space in time klingt wie eine eroberung des weltalls durch brasilianer im batucada rausch.

gerardo frisina joined forces with italian hip hop legend dj skizo (maurizio bonizzoni). an amazing encounter between two jazz lovers and record collectors - afro-cuban influences, 4/4 rhythms, refined use of samples and exotic atmospheres.

gerardo frisina goes back to the roots of the sound which has made him famous worldwide: the latin sound of classics like >descarga< or >the latin kick< (both previously released on schema). >moderno primitivo< is an ep about the encounter of the ancient afro-cuban tradition (the core of frisinas artistic dna) with a refined electronic taste. this component enriches drums and percussions and gives more edge to the whole production with details like pads and effects. in >moderno primitivo< the latin ensemble headed by frisina takes us into a jam session where percussions, piano and trombone play happily. the latin house mix is a club version where the rhythmic element and the groove take control of the mix. the melody is broken and a hammond plays over a ostinato bass. the flavour is definitely tribal. >cogele el ritmo< is a trip into frisinas latin world. slower than >moderno primitivo<, still has a solid hook to the dance-floor and is a triumph of joy and colour.

after the big succesfull of the “metti una bossa a cena”, gerardo frisina now presents the unbelievable, amazing 2nd volume. a precious recovery of the past to revitalise the present, which builds up new ideas of the future. “metti una bossa a cena”, whose title is completely inspired by the famous soundtrack by ennio morricone, goes on into this research field, discovering very rare tracks of this italian bossa panorama. we believe the result is perfect. gerardo frisina, track compiler of this project, has brought to light some rare tracks and perfectly matched them to create a unique and elegant thread.
