like a slug persistently stuck to the bottom of a half-pipe in the community park over which there has been much debate, grey people has long been making tracks within proximity of the teenage forbidden zone from the detached, elemental perspective of a dark, moist creature. cryogenically frozen should we be? schwarzenegger cries liquid nitrogen teardrops but allows you entree to the dance floor, filled with the icy carved physiques of electro snowmen. coma tunnel makes going flatline sound beautiful and sad. the fluorescent hum of the bulbs lighting the conical ceramic passage to oblivion provides a nostalgic pillow to press our face into. on the b side, the tornhawk squad mess-up of coma tunnel begins with toddler-techno thuggery. then guitar chews grape nuts cereal all loud in the ear of your high school principal. then some screechy, finally soothing greeting from the angels that escort you to afterlife s beanbag chair.

we at finale sessions are glad to have grey people aka alex michalski raining from chicago he is one of the new up and coming producers from the windy city that has flavor that finale sessions really likes and we present you with his first track called feeling strange with its weird but funky bassline and its dark synths gives it a peak time feel with its spooky chords that sets this track apart from the rest, then we have the track called - defeated which really has this depeche mode feel with its wicked bassline and its solid claps but we also dig the pads and synths also. then last but not least is the track forget the peak is my favorite track of the ep its solid chords and pads give this track a melodic feel and very dancefloor friendly vibe. we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your on going support of finale sessions

introducing the new vinyl only label, public system recordings, co run by matthieu foltyn and eric strykert. the first release is a split series ep from dj spider and grey people. starting off the ep, dj spider s mind field offers a percussive drum riff, warm synths, and a slight off beat rhythmic intensity that moulds together perfectly. next on spider s side is demon seed an intense journey utilizing deep stabbing kicks, delayed snares, whistling synths, and finishes with a soft subtle chant. flipping the record, grey people enters into the well familiar analogue techno spectrum. deep friday builds up with short stabbing cords, flickering snares and a spooky vocal. too much relevance is a rough acid chicago throw back. don t let this one slip!!
TRENCH FOOT

21.01.15
after a string of stellar releases with proper trax, cult trip, and mystical disco, grey people graces cgi with his latest. raised in chicago and currently residing in nashville, alex michalski treats us to another side of his sound as he completely forgoes sampling to give us four tracks of raw, stripped-down machine funk. the tunes presented here are culled from various hot and humid sessions in his home studio, armed with an arsenal of equipment old and new and cultivating a sound as diverse as it is nasty. witness the pluralist industrial jackin’ utopia that is grey people—from the crunchy, dissonant piano stomp of *trench foot*, and the equally crunchy, driving, new wave dirge of *moonstruck*, to the cosmic drift and thump of *lock the box* and the funked up fm slap-bass of *wild intentions*.

WELCOME TO MY CHEVY
12 Inch
26.03.14
roll out the grime-covered welcome mat for the sixth installment of proper trax! armed with a stack of filthy, ash-covered analog sound machines, that would make most studio pros weep in anguish, grey people return with welcome to my chevy.
PROPER TRAX 4
12 Inch
24.10.12
the anticipated fourth installment of proper trax. featuring two raw-as-fuck cuts each from vanguard sound homeboy chris mitchell and our very own grey people. on the a-side, chris slams it out of the gate with the straight-up, no-bullshit jack of >drum trax<, followed by the searing frequencies of >fury<. flip it over to continue fanning the flames with grey people and the relentless industrial funk of >panik mode<, while reminiscing of times gone by when sporting a dog collar and black-dyed hair was a legit way to get some sleazy indiscriminate sex. as if you werent feeling strange enough, dial it down with >abrahadabra< and make those ripped fishnets drop with a quickness! go hard, get raw, keep it proper.

nerang recordings first vinyl release showcases the talent of 4 producers who follow no rules on the studio. iok’s, i want to be with you (and a couple of others) is a lush track filled with emotion to set you on any roller-coaster. straight after that, we have dj safeword taking us to the darker side, literally, with his track hell. grey people’s lizard man dance is a hard hitting floor mover, for anyone with feet on their ankles. future dz came to the party with bongo 2cc, sure to start or or finish any night. put your seatbelt on, it’s time to get bumpy

RED PLANET / SILENT RUNNING

havamal inspired briton will flisk takes his filmic approach to music to the streets with his first output on our curious little imprint. with the help of good friend black merlin (george thompson) on synths and drum machines and natasya hodges on cello, this amazingly orchestrated title track (red planet) takes us to different planets and back, even though our money is too short for commercial space travel. nashville, tennessees very own grey people (alex j michalski) works his distortion on a sinister remix (b1) thats leaning towards the more techno side of things. for the b2, will bestowed an amazing bit of roughness upon us.
