root down is an exclusive and strictly limited 7inch single for dj oonops upcoming compilation oonops drops vol.1. the track will be available on the compilation too, but only on this 45 you ll get the instrumental version. oonops is hosting a monthly, successful broadcast show on brooklyn radio (nyc) since four years. a few months ago he selected the album nautiloid quest for agogo records new japanese signing nautilus and worked together with them for this single. oonops idea behind this reinterpretation of root down was a slower, jazzy laidback atmosphere combined with a female voice for the beastie boys lyrics. so he asked nautilus mastermind toshi to arrange a new instrumental and german singer fleur earth to sing over this track.

reflections is the spectral sound debut of nautiluss, the primary project from torontos graham bertie. his career began, as many do, with practicing mixing records in his bedroom before cutting his teeth in warehouse raves in montreal. after many collaborations and heavy touring early in his career, bertie has chosen to stay in more than go out, leading to a new direction in his music. dont let this lead you to believe hes a slouch in the live department.

parisian artist nautil is a music student specialising in acoustics, signal processing, and informatics. his debut single, canopée, utilises analog synths, sampling and personal recordings to emphasize the geometrics of nature and music. on the a-side the lead track, canopée, is a cavernous, pulsing, low-frequency techno colossus destined to hypnotise dark warehouse spaces. on the reverse galdae is a propulsive tecnoid tweaker while mue is designed for head rolling after hours with mesmeric synth drones suspended over a brain melting sub-bass pulse.

having released on some of the most influential labels, it is with great honor that audio culture welcomes the montreal based artist, nautiluss, to the family. the solstice ep consists of three tracks and finds nautiluss exploring warmer, more euphoric territories, and he does it right whilst still retaining the boldness and toughness of his past work. the ep flows effortlessly from the big string euphoria on solstice to the darker tones on corvus passing the slightly off kilter shuffle on neptune. without a doubt these will heat up any dancefloor in the cold winter months ahead.

with his second ep for turbo recordings, nautiluss pushes against the darker edges of modern techno and house, forging a sound that has earned support from supreme tastemakers like martyn, untold, gesaffelstein, and ivan smagghe.
