Maybe there is no such thing as an autobiographic song in electronic dance music but Valentino Kanzyanis 33 certainly comes as close as it gets. Marking the artists 33rd birthday in 2008 – the Christs years as one would say in his home country of Slovenia – the record was intended as a symbolic milestone in his highly successive career. As an artist who loves being surrounded by a crowd in professional as well as in personal life Kanzyani soon began organizing huge birthday parties where he performed together with his friends. The sets were readily released on promo records, which received a lot of attention. Finally, Kanzyani & Tomy DeClerque took it a step further by canalising the motivating atmosphere of their summer performance into a full-fledged studio release.
