DFA complete the set of Black Meteoric Star tracks onto vinyl with >Dreamcatcher/Dawn< on the third and final 12 from the album. Gavin Russom has created a unique tribute to the early days of synth and drum machine experimentation with this project, inhabiting the spirits of everyone from Giorgio Moroder to Ron Hardy with hypnotically brilliant effects. >Dreamcatcher< is another undiluted jam at 120bpm, sounding like a lo-fi Moroder tripout with gorgeous arpeggiations swirling in a pool of shallow resonant tape hiss. >Dawn< on the flip is the slowest track on the album, a sub 100bpm psyched electro-soul groove with cracking handclaps and an uncompromisingly lo-fi attitude. Dead cool.
