Echolettes second release Manzanillo 002, follows up with a similar tropical -Journey feeling- as felt on Echolettes first release, perhaps setting the style for this excellent new label. Whereas before it was Pygmys and bongos, this time Manzanillo has a distinctly more Mexican, if not Aztec vibe. The original mix kicks off with steady galloping horse like drums and percussion, which is suddenly met by a lovely melodic bassline, which again is doubled up with what sounds like a xylophone. Just as your wondering where its all going, a wicked little riff with delayed minimal vocal slices enter the mix keeping the groove going on and on forever and ever...
