Ben Gibson arrived on the techno scene in 2006 with the release of the techno-futurist track No Signify on Jeff Mills Axis sub-label 6277. The same year he relocated to Tokyo all the way from his adopted home New Zealand. Elaborate, poly-rhythmic and often densely textured, the music he produced during this period contrasted heavily with a lot of the minimal techno popular at the time.
Tracks like Cutter (Pohjola) and Wirklichkeit (Perc Trax) helped Ben cement his position in the international techno scene. After relocating to Europe in 2010 Ben continues to produce music and M_Rec Ltd could not pass on the opportunity to work with this artist. Its quality is unmistakable and the sound just perfect: the art of the loop, with its ability to hypnotize you, rising with no way out. A class that only those with their roots in early techno and with a knowledge of the genres origins can showcase. Here he drops three of his tracks, aligned with three of his mind trips, filled with drones. The remix of the track Implex is signed by Samuli Kemppi (already a M_Rec LTDs artist who released work on Mote Evolver, Perc Trax and Prologue). His genius makes this version unique and special, a dynamic killer with irresistible rhythmic breaks.
