The Detroit Threads team is at the center of a community of vinyl enthusiasts that take pride in their individual approach to sound. This community struggles to keep their vision alive though the warmth of the medium that holds a special place in the heart, vinyl. As the electronic sound evolves new faces and styles emerge to challenge the establishment. Detroit Threads hears those voices and works to give them a platform. Hou531 and .kite were chosen to represent Detrot Threads, because they are the yin and yang of the Detroit dubstep movement. Hou531 has a rambunchous method of creating grinding dubstep that is a release from a lifetime of Detroit pressure. Where as, .kite uses ethereal synth ambience sprinkled lightly with drum and bass to create an environment that is both sad and beautiful. These artists are under the radar, but by no means are they irrelevant.
