Max Essa returns to Is It Balearic..? Home to some of his more Balearic moments most notably the epic Panorama Suite. The A side is Dovodah! which begins with some Nu-Med atmospheres and acoustic guitar conjuring up 80s Italian beach parties. The loose percussion and a heartfelt vocal (calling the unmistakable sound of Dovodah!) carry you along before dropping into an early 90s italian progressive vibe. Genuinely a real post sunset bomb.
Doug Lee turns Dovodah into a more moody basement soundsystem banger -heavy bassline and distorted synths. This needs to be played Loud! The B side Burning Palms is a moment of sexy strummed acoustic guitar and percussion. Sounding like A Mountain of One on a dusty desert vacation. Summers surely round the corner. Hardway Bros Sean Johnston brings this tune back inside for some heads down dancefloor vibes while retaining alot of the original feel. Like a gypsy acid mid tempo house party. I want to go. IIB back with a bang!
