The trio draws a whole spectrum of sounds from their studio in the EP's title track, "Polina", which has already seen play by Dixon, Agoria, and Tale Of Us. Tested against the bassline are vocoder-treated vocals, overdriven, reverberating claps that shiver like a sheet of aluminum being struck, and dramatic brass synth lines, but the laws of physics hold them all together in a funnel of dark matter.

The architecture of "Magdalene" is built around layers of sinister sound. From inside raw percussive scaffolding, detuned synth flourishes come prowling out of the shadows and stalk imperceptible prey. The slow roiling of a saw-tooth drone heightens tension and gives way to Jeff Mills-style cymbals, before all the nocturnal creatures are driven back into the dark.

Scottish DJ and producer Alex Smoke, whose most recent EPs saw release on famed Belgian imprint R&S Records and who masquerades as Wraetlic, steps up for remix duties. His version of "Polina" rides on an undulating groove, dilating and honing in on only a select few elements from the original, before surging into tearing feedback and detuned, empyrean choir chords to close out the release.
