Resista returns after a lengthy hiatus with this scorching edits 12 inch perfect for long summer nights. Alphonse Rozel - the mystery alias of a well-known London-based producer - follows up his excellent 12 inch on London Housing Trust by digging deep for a couple of US-themed disco edits on Resista.
On the A side, "Can’t Keep It" is a long and luxurious afro comb pulled straight out of the widescreen world of 70s soul. The bass heavy groove is topped with gospel vocals and amazing drops and Rozel extends the original's instrumental break for an early doors or end of night moment.
On the flip, its Latin freestyle heaven as the sounds of Miami circa 1985 are reborn on the "Skate" track, coming across as almost a lost Shep Pettibone dub. An energetic fusion of synthetic instrumentation and syncopated electro-based drums it brings back the sounds of the Cover Girls, Corina and Company B. Most of all, it's pure disco fun!
