The ever restless Baio will make his Club Mod debut very soon in the shape of a two-pronged pitchfork that is On & On & On & On/Missive.
Sales Information:
Ethereal, melodic dance music that appeals as much to the head as it does the heart and hips, it’s another fascinating evolution in the work of Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio. Baio’s nightlife shows a more personal, cerebral yet similarly ecstatic side of the now London-based producer. Baio’s Club Mod EP mines a similarly deep dancefloor spirit to the likes of Caribou (especially as Daphni), Four Tet, Luke Abbot et al, one which sounds just as inspired in the club as it does in the headphones. Remixes come from house mainstay Neville Watson and playful Swedish producer HNNY. Club Mod is an independent label centred on the instinctual energy of the dancefloor, releasing singles and EPs by a network of geographically scattered, spiritually linked kinfolk for those who like to move their body - and is today relaunched with details of new releases forthcoming from Sharooz and Baio and a bold new aesthetic courtesy of renowned designer Trevor Jackson. Club Mod is developed by a trans-continental team (previously responsible for bringing you records from The Avalanches, Bag Raiders, Canyons and Cut Copy amongst others) to bring some of the most resonant sounds of house, techno and disco from clubs all over the map into the one entranced tribe. With due respect to the formative days in New York, Chicago and Detroit, reinterpreted through London, Paris and Berlin, and from our own roots in Australia, Club Mod amplifies those getting busy with the sound of tomorrow. The original label was founded in 2011 and was responsible for releasing some of the freshest body music of the past few years, including early releases from Movement and Naysayer & Gilsun, as well as remixes from Shadow Child, John Talabot, Jeremy Greenspan (Junior Boys), Morgan Geist and many others.
