The opening track on this double sided GYNLTD series comes from Hironori Takahashi. Speclaz displays sharp panned cymbals and sonics, underpinned by a pulsey rhythm and modulated organesque synths. The Takaaki Itoh remix is a deeper and more moody affair, albeit with a similar syncopated rhythm structure and some tasty modulated acidic synth stabs with filtered atmospherics. On the flip-side, Myk Derill s Crossroads takes a turn for a more broken industrial rhythm with looped vocal chants holding it all together before breaking down into a washed out synth breakdown, then returning to the pre-emnent fat rhythm and vocalised stabs. Finally track 4 sees Philippe Petit remix, with the artist opting for a very stripped back 4-4 hi-hats/percussive workout underpinning minimalistic modulated synth and gentle bassy offsets. The most tooled-up track of this EP.
