Sales Information:
Next up we take a nice and ugly diversion into the world of Whirling Hall Of Knives. Ruling the Trensmat and Nute labels with an iron fist over the past 8 years, WHOK (aka Magnetize & The Last Sound) have released a surging flow of albums and singles over various formats, that have become buy on sight purchases for their loyal and ever-growing fanbase.
This is their first 12" outside of Trensmat, with which they deliver a standout addition to the Earwiggle catalogue. With a title track that Surgeon has already likened to German krautrock legends Faust (as well as premiering on his recent Rinse FM show), 'Comminute EP' is characterised by a monstrous, dark metal texture and tension-building soundscapes that remind us of what hell must really be like. For fans of classic Alec Empire, Justin Broadrick or modern day Downwards Records, inside cuts 'Monopolific' and 'Scrap Assembly' are for you.
Ancient Methods is an old friend of Earwiggle, playing one of his first overseas AM gigs for us back in 2009 (which many Irish techno heads still get emotional talking about), and he kindly remixes 'Comminute' into one of his most individual works to date; a tearing low-bpm slab of doom, it shares a similar one-minded approach to the original but with a crazed mind all of its own.[txt from ]
