Leap is back! #006 of the catalogue offers two deep journeys by label operator A:lex on the A-side: “Soul Shower” cuts to the chase with dubby toms, shuffling hats, sharp-ass claps and an infectious warm synth progression that manifests that “body thang” referred to sample-wise. “Long Way to Detroit” is a groover of a MPC-styled workout that stitches together various voices that comment on the city of cities all the while shuffling hard snares around a bubbling baseline - laid-back reminiscence guaranteed. The flip side features one hell of a funky jam entitled “Places (Live Take)” ripped straight from a modular Acid session conducted by the mysterious outfit Richmond Wagner. Sparkling hats sprinkled over relentlessly warping bleeps and a thumper of a kickdrum will make crowds go off their heads during upcoming festival season as in any place alike.
