After Mike Gervais’ strident work on SYM017, Ben Sims’ Symbolism imprint returns with Spanish newcomer JLG’s four track ‘Convolution’ EP. Originally coming to Sims’ attention via the demo section of his ‘Run It Red’ radio show/podcast, Javier LG has previously released for Dynamic Reflection and Substance but it’s the quality of his unreleased material that secured his place on Symbolism. Characterised by intricate and interwoven melodic rhythms, some at the forefront and some almost there, JLG’s debut for the label is an infectious and consummate affair.
