San Francisco DJ and producer Charles Duff aka Matrixxman unveils his new label The Grid with a special double 12inch - The Grid 001 presented in a deluxe gatefold sleeve. Matrixxman is one of the most acclaimed and prolific modern Techno producers, opening new avenues in the current scene with his material regularly supported and played by Rodhad, Jeff Mills, Ben Klock, Richie Hawtin and more. The Grid 001 captures Matrixxman in full Techno mode with tracks of pure rhythm, polyphony and shades of Acid bookended with brief ambient sketches. The Californian artist offers a sonic teleportation to outer space, to a different way of representing Techno and Electronic music. These six tracks are characterised by their futuristic atmosphere and clearly marked by their hypnotic construction, where elements that seem to be insignificant become the centre of attention, where a trivial whistle can be looped and turned into a main mutant melody, where textures become increasingly important to show us different sides of Techno.
