Mexican label Calypso have thus far released some choice original material from the likes of Aristidez, Colossio, Thomass Jackson and more, but now they're firing up a new line that focuses on edits from a varied cast of characters. "Correcciones Calypso" starts with the sizzling heat of Tyu's "Meneo," a clamouring drum workout with chanting, heavy cowbells and a bubbling acid undercurrent. Inigo Vontier's "Justus" is a brittle, industrial-tinged drama that keeps building without ever losing the all-important tension and release.
