For the first Various, Mamie’s Records is proud to introduce “Sai Yin Pun EP", focus on the Hong Kong house activists with three track from Reba, Romain FX, Sanpé The history of Sai Ying Pun long began in the mid-19th century when the British military first landed and set up their camps in the area before the colonial era which in turn boosted the development of the neighbourhood, and the name Sai Ying Pun literally means ‘western camps’. The first track is a heavy hitter from Reba that takes a very UK/Dancehall approach with dry drum machine sounds and a catchy repeated vocal throughout the track, dance floor killer guaranteed. The second track is jumping dance floor guaranteed with a more groovy house track from Romain FX, incorporating chops throughout with deep bass line breaks and dreamy house chords to then get lifted off into the air. And finally to close off the EP with have Sanpé with a very minimal gloomy approach, keeping the deep house vibes we like with subtle touches of raw goodness throughout.
