Defective Records / DR032
2x12 Inch LP
Early works from 1994-1998
A retrospective of the Defective Records catalog, from 1994-1998. This release marks the reemergence of this acclaimed label from the "golden age" of techno, and which was the original home for several featured artists who went on to garner significant accolades (e.g. Mike Parker, Solar X, Glitch, DJ Who, etc…). All tracks, now long out of print, have been remastered by Schnittstelle, and beautifully released in double vinyl gatefold package.
Mike Parker continues to perform extensively, with recent shows in France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Mexico, Columbia, Japan, South Korea, China, etc…
Solar X album X-Rated recently re-released by Nina Kraviz on Galaxiid - tracks featured here are from even earlier in Roman Belavkin's career, and even more difficult to find.
DJ Who in recent heavy rotation by Maceo Plex.
Glitch, O.H.M. and DJ Who all recently featured on "Defective Bytes" re-issue by Austrian label Rota Bene.
Before Defective Records, Glitch releases originally found on R&S, Fax, Industrial Strength (with Lenny Dee and Richie Hawtin collaborations), Radikal, and other hugely influential labels from that time.[info sheet from distr.]
