strong minimal dub EP to celebrate 5 years Mont Lake Rec.. incl strong Tripmastaz remixes
Mont Lake records returns in 2022 with a brand-new vinyl only various artist compilation. The release has been split into two parts with a digital bonus track only on Bandcamp to celebrate their 5th year as a label.
The first part of the two-part compilation, features a track from Austrian producer and DJ Alexander Wirth, known as one of the founders of Leap Records and the Tante Emma Club in Innsbruck plus a remix and dub version from Tripmastaz to complete the release.
Starting things out with Alexander’s original version of “Right Place”, a grand pad floats over a classic deep house beat that sets the mood perfectly. Then a hypnotic synth element slightly pokes through adding an interesting layer of sound until the obscure vox comes into play that whisks the listener off into a place of pure sonic bliss.
Moving on to Tripmastaz’s take on “Right Place” he craftily deconstructs the original into a minimal dance floor shaker with a stellar groove that keeps changing and evolving as the track continues it eleven-minute journey. Playfully adding sprinkles of synth noises to keep people on their toes while the majestic pad from the original makes an appearance but used more as an element of surprise and not as a main feature of the remix.
Finishing the release off an even more stripped-down dub version from Tripmastaz brings our sound journey to a final conclusion. Abstract noises and auditory hallucinations shine through in this version that leads us to a squealing sub bass and further deconstruction of the source material into a true work of aural delight.
