Paula Abdul’s 1988 debut album - receiving 7x platinum status and #1 in the US charts. Including the hit singles STRAIGHT UP, Opposites Attract & Cold Hearted. Audiophile pressing on black 180 gram vinyl.
After having a successful career as a choreographer for high-profile artists including George Michael, ZZ Top, Duran Duran and Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul struck out on a new path and used her savings to make a singing demo. Soon after, she was signed to Virgin Records and released her debut studio album Forever Your Girl in 1988. Acclaimed producers Oliver Leiber, Elliot Wolf, Jesse Johnson, L.A. Reid & Babyface worked together to create this hit album.
The album included six singles; “Knocked Out”, “The Way That You Love Me”, “Straight Up”, “Forever Your Girl”, “Cold Hearted” and “Opposites Attract”. The last four all became #1 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100, which never happened in history with a debut album. The album was certified seven times Platinum and sold over 18 million copies worldwide. It became the most successful debut album of all time, at that time.
