Bad Blood was released on 4th March 2013. Bastille’s debut album charted at #1 on the UK Albums chart, spending 3 weeks at the top, and is certified triple platinum in the UK, and platinum in the US and several other countries. The 2014 Brit Awards nominated ‘British Album of the Year’ features the singles “Overjoyed”, “Bad Blood”, “Flaws”, “Pompeii”, “Laura Palmer”, “Things We Lost in the Fire” and “Oblivion”. Pompeii was the 4th single released from the album and was the band’s breakthrough song, peaking at #2 on the UK Singles Chart. It became the eleventh best-selling song that year, and, until June 2014, was the country’s most streamed single of all time. The song was nominated for ‘British Single of the Year’ at the 2014 BRIT Awards. A popular dance remix of the track by Audien was nominated for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classic at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Many songs from the album have been used in popular culture, featuring in such shows & films as The Vampire Diaries, Eastenders, Grey’s Anatomy and The Good Dinosaur, and The Cast of Glee performed “Pompeii” in a season closing episode. It’s also a member of the billion streams club on Spotify, currently with 1.23+ billion streams. Bad Blood was also the biggest-selling digital album of 2013. To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the album, UMR have worked with Dan Smith to produce a gatefold sleeve packaging, a coloured LP (coloured vinyl) this will also include a brand new 7” vinyl with 2 never-before heard demos, “Racing Heart” (Laura Palmer Demo) / “Poet” (Dan’s Bedroom Demo) located in Dan’s parents’ loft. A 16-page 12×12 book featuring new artwork, notes from each member of the band and unseen images. The artwork will also feature handwritten annotations and track-list from Dan. Inside the gatefold will also be a 12×12 two-sided insert with an alternative cover and unseen image. To commemorate the anniversary the band will be playing a Bad Blood X tour around the world, playing 10 UK dates, with a London show at Alexandra Palace on Bastille Day, 14th July 2023.
