'Detached From Our Surroundings' sets an intoxicating tone from the get-go. Moody, deep-set chords creep through minor keys while a staccato riff circles overhead. Drums are cleverly balanced against the heady melodies making it equally as effective in a warm-up set or as part of a memorable after-hours trip.
'Robber Barons' then builds a nice contrast between organic sonics and raw, 808 drums. A stripped, primal groove unfurls as parameters are gently manipulated, building tension throughout a brooding and dynamic piece of analog-heavy Techno.
Answer Code Request Remix then weighs in and offers up a free-flowing interpretation of Robber Barons. Here, a master at work allows his machines to breathe as the track gradually renders a dreamy but rugged landscape.
