Lil Static Records restore our senses with a first 7" release for 2025. To take on Wu-Tang Clan's 'CREAM' has by and large become a rite of passage for low-key edits outlets such as theirs. Following up a craftily timed Mantronix 'King Of The Beats' version put out last year, the hip-hop samurai stable are heard in fullest remastered clarity here, with Raekwon's timeless reflections on paternal addiction and sundered Shaolin days given ample reconsideration here. On the B-side comes the original sample used by the supergroup: The Charmels' 'As Long As I've Got You', a girl-group soul staple and Monument Records favourite who would've likely remained in obscurity had the Clan not lifted their main song's signature piano line with such ensate precision back in 1993.
