It has been eight years since Kwes graced the mighty Warp Records. And how fans of both will have missed the pairing. Kinds comes along at a time in which we really need something to calm us down and make us think deeply about what's important. How fitting, then, that the only information to hand is that the compositions here are "inspired by memory, colour, and [the producer's] kids." Sonically, it's close to a gong bath. Hallucinatory ambient that encourages out of body experience. Closing your eyes to the warm chimes and lush refrains is an exercise in mindfulness, but also a genuine adventure through sound.
