For the latest in their ongoing series of 7" singles focused on the work of soul great Leroy Hutson, Home of the Good Groove has decided to serve up something rather special - a previously unreleased recording from 1977, 'Thank You'. A super-smooth soul jam in which simmering strings, evocative horns, eyes-closed group harmonies and his own superb lead vocals ride a slow-motion groove, it's a genuinely fantastic archive gem that more than deserves to be heard by more than just Hutson archivists. It comes backed with 'The Ghetto '74', his largely instrumental rearrangement of Donny Hathaway classic 'The Ghetto', a song the pair co-wrote while they were room-mates at Howard University.[info sheet from distr.]
