das debütalbum von cindy trägt den passenden titel „i m cindy“. produziert wurde es von kai hugo alias palmbomen ii. wer genau ist cindy? wenn produzent kai hugo indirekte strategien angewandt hat, dann wäre es diese frage, die im mittelpunkt seines musikalischen schaffens der letzten vier jahre stand. sie tauchte erstmals 2015 auf seiner lp „palmbomen ii“ als titelfigur des songs „cindy savalas“ auf, und seitdem ist ihr leben eng mit dem des produzenten verflochten. „nach dieser veröffentlichung drehte ich ein musikvideo für cindy savalas, in dem cindy durch die darstellung von blue lolan zum leben erweckt wurde“, erklärt hugo. „ich fühlte mich dieser figur wirklich verbunden und vertiefte mich in die entwicklung ihrer persönlichkeit und der welt, in der sie lebte. das ergebnis war die lp memories of cindy, mit der ich mehr über carmel vista, die stadt, in der cindy lebte, preisgeben wollte. danach stellte ich mir vor, dass cindy ihr eigenes „verlorenes“ album hätte, als hätte sie einmal eine platte veröffentlicht, die irgendwie in vergessenheit geraten war.“ „i m cindy“ ist jedoch ganz anders.
