to celebrate the 10th anniversary of record store day we’ve created something very special. we have two killer remixes of ‘henry mccullough’ by andrew weatherall packaged in our most elloborately printed sleeve yet. the white vinyl has a unique gold and black colour splatters and is housed in a silver screen printed reflective ‘mirror- sleeve. each vinyl is uniquly numbered and part of a 1000 edition. comes with a download code included.

es gibt den frühen acid house-holmes. sein letztes soloalbum the holy pictures (2008) atmete la düsseldorf, the jesus & mary chain und brian eno. er produzierte primal scream und jon spencer blues explosion. und er schrieb (und schreibt) unzählige hollywood-soundtracks, allen voran für steven soderberghs oceans trilogie (mit george clooney, matt damon, brad pitt). nun legt david holmes seine late night tales version vor, bestehend aus vielen, kleinen kopfkinofilmchen, in denen wir auf david crosby, buddy holly und die children of sunshine treffen. dazu gibt es reichlich exklusives holmes-eigenmaterial, kollabos mit bp fallon und jon hopkins, sowie das von ihm produzierte 10cc cover i m not in love von song sung. insgesamt sind es 9 exclusives, wozu auch die spoken word-perfomance von stephen rea zählt, der aus seamus heaneys aeneid book vi elsewhere anchises vorliest.

david holmes under his unloved alias concludes the package with a cinematic remix of think too much, overflowing with emotion, it makes the perfect conclusion to a stellar release. also from belfast, holmes has been composing music for over two decades, winning his second ivor novello award in 2016.

jon hopkins begann seine musikalische laufbahn 1999 im zarten alter von 21 jahren. er arbeitete mit brian eno und david holmes zusammen, war an der produktion dreier coldplay-alben beteiligt und erhielt für sein album *immunity* 2013 eine mercury prize-nominierung. seine late night tales session klingt wie ein requiem für einen traumort, irgendwo zwischen himmel, hölle und dem überfluteten themse-delta. technobeats und verzerrungen mögen vorkommen, doch der blick des zuhörers wandert gefangen und verträumt über die weiten eines offenen ozeans bei nacht. wir begegnen den komponisten nils frahm und ben lukas boysen, den warp-acts bibio und darkstar, jonsi & alex von sigur ros, den grace jones-samplern holy other, sowie künstler wie four tet, alela diane, school of seven bells, health und david holmes. garniert wird diese außergewöhnliche zusammenstellung mit einem exklusiven jon hopkins pianocover des yeasayer-songs *i remember*, sowie mit einer spoken-word-erzählung des produzentenkollegen rick holland.
