mehmet aslan returns to his own fleeting wax imprint, in order to deliver the first in a series of releases as part of a new project, ghost station, including a collaboration with fellow turkish singer, songwriter and vocal producer, idil mese.

needs (not-for-profit) is a nonprofit record label & collective lovingly curated by bobby pleasure. we believe in people. the concept of the label is to use music as a medium to spread love, unity and the idea of giving back. promoting harmony and togetherness rather than isolation and estrangement, each release and accompanying event will act as a support stream to various issues within society such as mental health, homelessness and equality. for the third release we have tracks from lord of the isles, mehmet aslan, petwo evans, bartellow & nick gynn. five artists from different countries of the world who all have the needs factor, and have very kindly donated their music to the dancefloor. all profits from this release will be donated to help refugees charity. everybody has needs

a leftfield haven, happy at home on the fringe where boundaries blur and textures intertwine. it was only a matter of time before jennifer cardini and noura labbanis dischi autunno imprint featured the bewitching sounds of mehmet aslan. following outstanding documents from dollkraut and the magic ray, berlin-based swiss-turk mehmet makes his label debut with four singular works of art. alysha takes the lead 22nd century desert funk with sand storm atmospheres, mushroom clouds of slide guitar and a hefty dose of blues, it sets us perfectly for the rest of the ep. elsewhere were sucked deep inside the dream machine in slo-mo as beasts lollops and thumps with warped insistency, we have the stately swampy cosmic stomps and trippy breakdown surprise of exotica before a collaboration with uk kindred spirit jonny rock closes the show with a sense-blurring psychedelic tagine of interlaced hooks and the tangiest riff this side of istanbul. beguiling business as always from dischi autunno.

very limited repress!!! banoffee pies records launches its first white label to date, and it s a three-pronged collaboration by new and exciting faces in the scene. first up is philou louzolo and his excellent -afrofuturism dance-, a solid house jerker with lively tribal influences, folloed siftly by wendel sield and his moodier, jazzier piece entitled -history of black people-. on the flip, huntleys & palmers mmt proceeds to drop some gipsy king house in the form of -ton a ton-, backed by the more funky disco shades of -pangae flute-. nice and diverse for ya!

gazel is one of those tunes that went viral from the very first minute. djs like baris k, ata or acid arab are still playin this tune since it was made in 2013. mehmet aslan and dario rohrbach finally managed to create with gazel this kind of tune that blows away every dance floor. the impact was not only on the dance floor. several threads on social media appeared with videos, desperately looking for the track id. but there were also the ones, that had to rip it of a set of baris k, so they can play it. the b-side goes definetly deeper when alma negra is able to make a tune you want to open your set. on this gem they combine northafrican folklore sounds with classic deephouse drumpatterns and trippy synths. fleeting wax has managed to put together some of the most promising artists of the hour, having dario rohrbach on board who is part of the alma negra collective and will hit this year with promising releases for example on yoruba. this release is going to find his way in many dj-bags and wont leave it so fast

e first came across mehmet when we played at the family affairs party he runs with the miajica in basel. a group of like-minded individuals, we hit it off musically and started swapping music.
