at an epic nine minutes in length, light through the veins from hopkins first album in four years is a work of classic, hypnotic electronica. it draws the listener in with each pure, serpentine note, rises to a propulsive, euphoric climax, before finally dissolving into an ending of heartrending beauty and sadness. the 12inch release is backed with a remix from one of electronic musics most respected producers and djs, ewan pearson, who has delivered a 15 minute future balearic classic. the 12inch will also feature legendary dj, musician and composer david holmes remix - a krautrocking, psychedelic jam from outer space.

the album has a very fragile, stripped down and haunting sound and is being roundly praised for it s beauty and simplicity drawing numerous comparisons to his early work with the beta band on the -3 eps- album. having previously recorded as both king biscuit time and black affair, both largely electronic based projects, steve mason enlisted the help of producer richard x and consciously made a decision to go back to basics: the album was written entirely on acoustic guitar with many of the finished tracks stripped back to reveal his undoubted songwriting talent. this special bonus edition includes a bonus disc of the album -ghosts outside- which sees the original album given a dub reworking by dennis bovell.
