ron deacon aus leipzig mit seiner ersten ep für ingo sängers label farside. der minimal-dubbige remix kommt von lowtec. deacon ist teil der crew um das label workshop (lowtec, even-tuell, benjamin brunn etc.), wo der mann mit workshop 10 gerade einen volltreffer gelandet hat. die secret garden ep bewegt sich nun zwischen seiner soul-affinität und musik zwischen minimal, techno und deep house.

westpark unit (aka herb lf & ingo saenger) are back with their annual release on farside records after some work for labels like dessous, tjumy, future classic or fear of flying. this time, they provide 4 brandnew trax for the vinyl edition. more forever might be familiar to a few people that followed the music of westpark unit over the years. the tune is a special rework of their first ever limited 12inch release forever back in 2002 on draft recordings. more forever took some of the original deep harmonies, keeps parts of the piano loop and the beautiful sampled hook and should be a soulful bomb on the 2009 floors. even deeper 45 grows and grows with a very intensely chord, takes you on a trip with its driving bassline and is the other dubby deep house tune here. the first demo version received some nice feedback / chartings / plays from djs like dplay, matt flores or shur i kan. while speaking of house (not house), jam hot and familiar sequence are musically caught somewhere in between the styles. jam hot might be more funk than house with sexy 104 bpm, is bouncing like hell and keeps the crowd shaking and moving. familiar sequence appeals to the disco fanatics out there, has a little of a balearic vibe and is also keeping things slow. both tunes are the perfect startup into the night. we think this is the right tempo for party anyway.

henry l is the new moniker of cologne based producer/dj thats already known to the drum & bass world as henree (with releases on established labels like soul:r, cia deepkut and soundtrax just to name a few). even though hes still busy in that genre (unless others) it was about time to contribute something to a genre he always felt and took inspiration from. the other day at the basement reminds on an early mood ii swing vibe, pitched down to the right tempo. marcus worgull stripped down >the other day at the basement< a little, focussed on dubby stabs and added some wonderful harmonies to this hypnotic tune. when the soulful piano comes in, theres no question that this marcus worgull dub is one of his best remixworks to date. >wake up< is a sexy 109 bpm monster and as funky as house should be. if you need one word to describe this dope jewel it might be bouncing!<. just awesome dope shit, soulful, slow and moving

the into the night ep is a wonderful deep, slow & moving record that should be one of the highlights in this years autumn sessions. into the night kicks off with some wild pitch – alike chords and builds up soulful, moody but strong. tectonic move is so damn groovy and might be one the funkiest trax ever coming out of the metaworld universe of matt flores. also the tempo of almost 120 bpm is sexy as hell... all percussions & the bass are played live by matt flores. “tectonic move” also features some extatic detroitish synths that makes you scream. a definitive winner! the tectonic move flores & saenger dub has been rearranged a bit by matt flores and farsides ingo saenger (one half of westpark unit). they stripped the tune, put more focus on the groove and re dubbed all harmonies & synths. the result is a funky smokers riddim for all you dubby tool headz out there.

after his last years hit fruchtalarm/city rush boogie dub on farside records, its time for another herb lf solo joint. sunliner takes you on a trip and has a deep melancholic mood with a perfect catchy piano hook. when the reese bassline drops, sunliner takes one step further and creates big dancefloor pressure. expect a very special moment when you play out this wonderful piece of music in the club. dub is the word in down to the sound?. some cheeba cheeba business, a smokers riddim, delayed stabs and a killer bassline is enough for this dubby deep tune. ring the alarm! one of the most groovin 4 to the floor trax that has seen the light recently is named shake!. with a few dubby dancehall snippets and a slightly metallic sounding synth, herb lf adds live percussions from tim friesenhagen. even the sound of a lighter (!!) is used as a rhythmic element. get your groove on this perfect percussive atmospheric tool. shake it, baby!

mo rotation is the next step in the history of westpark units 80s funk influences they started with blaxrotation and fits well within the sound of today! always sexy, dope, deep & dubby. proper thang is as deep as jeep and builds up in the typical westpark unit style with some demanding but tricky drumpatterns and a wicked bassline. to surprise, the duo added some old school snippets into the drop, put them into a different context and present a jewel of a bangin deep house tune with one of the most enthusiastic moments when the beats come back in. mo rotation sets up with just some shakers, a demanding percussion loop, a booming bass and needs almost 5 minutes to get things started. when the bassdrum finally drops in, the club is already near ecstasy while the music takes a small step from 1983 to 2008 and a deep masterpiece

this 12 kicks off with jam 2 tha mother,a track that has been doing the rounds for a while as a westpark unit track apparently. its a fairly nice hiphouse bumper.its all about miles though. the looped piano sample works wonderfully well with the straight deep disco beats. and while the original is good, the soulphiction remix is the icing on the cake. they give it a certain industrial/techy edge, and make the sample stand out even better. add to that some dope detroit beatdown bass licks and beats, and you ve got yourself a catchy tune
