incredible deephouse track with a lot of energy. minimalized bassline is giving it a masculine drive and the lush melody is very lively giving the track a loose feel and nice build up. comes with one of those well crafted mark e remixes with that driving slow house beats and measured and steady build ups. after fa016 another strong fine art release! limited to 300 copies.

achim maerz makes his debut on fine art with a 5 track ep release. tracks that are upbeat & summerish with a classic groove! early chicago influences are obvious, but achim added a nice contemporary touch. kind of larry heard meets basic channel meets second wave detroit techno. comes with beautiful artwork!

basic soul unit returns to his herman project with an excellent early chicago influenced house track. seriously good track that is weird and wonky with much quality in the drum programming. very spacious without being cheeky. it comes comes with an utterly irresistible rework from vakula reminiscent of the halcyon days of chi house. and as bonus 4 locked grooves! one of our favorite fine art records to date!

fine art with another piece of sultry nu-disco/house. this time its londons capracara (aka jonathan burnip), who has had outstanding releases on dfa and soul jazz. this vinyl only release of panic beats includes (beside the original version of course) a sweet previously unrelease remix from diskjokke, one of those hot producers from oslo (like prince thomas, lindstrom). diskjokke just had his second album out on smalltown supersound but found time to deliver this sweet remix job. comes with two endless loops in the run out groove. fine art is on a great run with this cool 10... vinyl only

herman is probably the coolest artist name we have heard in a while.. so unsexy and very unlikely that its not someone s real name... but stuart li must have had a laugh about it with some friends and some beers! stuart li aka basic soul unit aka herman starts this project for his production that one would not directly link to his chicago house rooted basic soul unit releases. herman delivers two hot tracks with dubstep fueled beats, sub bass driven grooves with detroit influenced sounds that one could expect on a label such as hessle audio. title track prototype is total killer which goes into the direction of 2562 and martyn. april skies sound like aril brikha meets 2562 meets basic soul unit. hot release!!

classic sounding track by two long going and respected techno heads.. fabrice lig and titonton. these guys take it back to the early nineties when techno was still fresh and new... the days that titonton and dan curtin were debuting with their sophisticated techno sound. raw funky 909 percussion, bleepy analogue synths and great warm string sounds and beautiful melodies. purist techno tracks that never go out of style and reminds the old blokes why we loved techno in that period so much. and it shows the young cats that there is more then the standard dj tool techno! beanfield is on remix duty here... and he delivers an updated modern dancefloor friendly house version with a great string section that reminds a bit of knights of the jaguar and a killer bassline after the break. check!

shortly followed after the 40 thieves remix (fa011) comes another fine piece of musical art. the 2nd vinyl sampler will be featuring remixes from andre lodemann and henrik schwarz. this will be a one off press of two very special tracks.

inner thoughts is a rolling acid track with off beat snares and broken hi hats while space disco is a deep detroit esque, mid tempo slice of electronic gem. sonja moonear (karat, katapult) has added her own dimension into the release, having reworked space disco into an obscurely deep, heavily bassed broken piece of dance floor wonder. also on remix duties, lasimo (senator/germany) has taken the original from down town detroit to a parisian night club, dropping the main acid line out but manoeuvring the percussive groove and gentle pads to an altogether new kind of experience.
