marseille s finest dj steef steps up to the plate for the next foto 12 inch, supplying 3 hefty house tracks of varying tempo s and moods. main jam shaking kicks off proceedings with a chopped-up break and kicking groove before a piano-laden mid-section sends the temperature rising. next up freeters hits heavy on the pitch-down vibe with some wonky electronics underpinned by a solid 4/4 low end. over on the flip big bossman the revenge hits back with a trademark stripped-out mix of shaking which is heavy on the machine funk. rounding things off mojica tribe is an altogether deeper number with smooth pads and an ethereal atmosphere

foto recordings goes all symbolic for their tenth release. keeping the numbers in symmetry the 2-track single from label boss ooft! is pressed on to 10- vinyl, and features one pitched-down & one pitched-up jam. lead track here for you summons some 70s soul vocals and layers new beats and synths underneath to create a pitch-down monster suitable for late nights and end-of-set moments. on the flip whistle time has more of a steady summer-house strut with disco samples rubbing up against some understated 303s to provide some terrace action over the warmer months ahead

for its 2nd 4 track v/a ep foto welcomes more new artists to the roster in the form of andy hart & max graef (au), mermaids (uk), and riff clichard (outer space). label boss ooft! also contributes a track on the a-side, with the wallowing jareths revenge blending strings, samples, bass and more into a 110bpm roller. next up the aussie dudes andy hart & max graef craft a funking slow house jam in the shape of dem young jabronis, all warm chords and bumping beats. over on the flip mermaids show why theyre some serious contenders for a big breakthrough this year run with the night shifts through the gears for 5 minutes before breaking into downright euphoric territory. rounding things off the mysterious riff clichard takes some time out from polishing his intergalactic jensen interceptor to chop up some 80s beats to give us through with love.

the a side arbitrary stakes out its intentions early with a solid groove and dubbed out stabs. a little vocal in the main breakdown increases the tension before it all kicks back in with a reassuring thud. on the flip galaxy high is equally deep but opts for some juno chords and soaring strings to bring it life. finally on lgb some 80s soul samples are worked in to a slightly tougher electronic jam.

after a couple of house 12s foto returns to more edit-based territory with its first v/a ep. ooft! kicks things off by paying homage to the reverend and the deacon with love & soulsaving. next up italian newcomer la tuerie keeps things loopy, soulful and slow on filter. on the flip future star luvless from leipzig delivers some loping pitch-down house in the form of motion clapture and everyones favourite la don cole medina rounds out proceedings with the downbeat soul of i like you. job done.

mr bratley drops 2 slo-house workouts on his foto debut. this sound is big and brash with insistent stabs and filter sweeps over the top of some thumping pitch-down house beats. on the flip things get even heavier with get up, a dark, pulsating beast which ups the jack factor whilst maintaining a slow tempo. to round things off label boss ooft! pulls this sound into solid deep house territory with a smoother mix which still contains some serious bottom-end.

following on from their last two sell out eps, foto recordings (run by ali ooft!) enlist the talents of deep space orchestra for release number three in the catologue. first up >riding in my imaginary jeep< showcases their trademark old synths/modern production aesthetic to full effect, taking in classic drum machines and warm synth lines to produce an epic piece of deep house. second track >sir shina< sees them doing some deft sample-manipution with a big chugging midtempo jam the result. ooft! meanwhile give >riding< the once-over, beefing up the low end whilst retaining most of the musical parts.

the a-side >dance< combines deep detroit synths with driving house rhythms to devastating effect, whilst on the flip andy gets his sample chopping gear out to cut up an 80s soul number into a grooving pitch-down banger for >mason in my basin<. these jams are strictly for the floor.

new label foto recordings launches with two reworks from glasgows ooft! music. showcasing some seriously deep house on the a-side, ride in to the red zone is ooft!s homage to those early 90s new york dons. meanwhile on the flip a certain classic disco jam gets reworked into a simple club banger courtesy of some chopped samples and added hardware. simple but effective.
