this is the third ep by dutch post-techno project monocorpse... his style is evident by now: minimal and dark... a sort of doom techno for the freaked-out dance floor... but this new ep also feels like a soundtrack... rather moody and haunting music which would fit perfect in thrillers and psychological dramas... despite all of this there are some real dance floor tracks on this ep... stuff monocorpse never delivered before in this way...

the untitled was already present on the -unruhe- compilation... this one man project is located in the north of holland far away from trends and hypes... and so is his music... the ingredients are evident: a pounding bassdrum, screaming synths, ear-splitting acid lines and distorted hi-hats. the result: disturbing and intense techno and acid... music that you can also call post-hardcore, tekno or acid core... and for sure sounds that could also interest fans of industrial music... or anybody interested in extreme sounds...

edition of 200 copies, screen printed sleeve... here is another best kept secret from the netherlands: garçon taupe… this musician has been around for quite some time but released only a few tracks yet… mostly on dutch label narrominded… and these released tracks are quite elektro orientated… this 4 track ep is all about acid… techno and elektro beats go hand in hand to make up party music pur sang… this is simply a great piece of acid music which will appeal to fans of ceephax acid crew and acid trax in general…

the gooiland elektro compilation “unruhe” is a showcase of contemporary acid techno… spacey and trippy in the hands of zarkoff and distorted and freaked out by roberto auser… but also rather industrial when done by foql or pushed to the extreme by the untitled… this is acid as it should sound… edgy and daring tracks for illuminated heads instead of easy and boring sounds suitable for the masses… and as with all gooiland elektro releases this one is equally intense on the dance floor as with headphone playback.

zarkoff returns to gooiland elektro… this time not as fffc but together with ikonal… a partner in crime when it comes to producing spacey and trippy acid tracks… these three tracks are from one of the infamous synth jams zarkoff is organizing in an empty factory near sisak in croatia… the acid tracks featured on this ep have a throbbing beat with a clear hint to ebm… and the acid lines are both psychedelic and dark… in short dark acid for late night parties!

former descent is the free spirited project by the mastermind behind neurobit and rioteer… with this project he blends in a very successful way minimalism and lo-fi electronics with tough rhythms… these rhythm based tracks take its cue from old school ebm and new beat… this while the melodic elements give the tracks just the right touches to draw you deeper into them… harsh and playful and light and dark never went so well together before… resulting in pure rave anthems!

hailing from holland monocorpse serves dark electronix/techno… extremely minimal, raw and primitive in sound and the tracks are ritual and occult in orientation and mood… think of the previous gooiland elektro releases by drvg cvltvre and ekman but stripped down to the essence and pitch black… also comparisons with ancient methods have already been made… but these tracks have a nasty and dirty sound of their own ... this 12” ep is something for the real freaks out there.

foql is belonging to the same polish electronic music collective as marburg (see gooiland 10: v/a – club funny horse) but the sound of this project is truly different… in a way the hypatia ep is delicate and even fragile maybe… it has the ritual feeling like some of the music by coil has… next to that it has textures reminiscent of the future sound of london… and in some ways foql fuses ambient, electronix and techno in the same way kobosil sometimes does… in short.. this is a record for well informed and well educated music lovers.

kit n c.l.a.w.s. is a project by two experienced musicians in the fields of dance and psychedelic music… teaming up was probably one of the better ideas they had for a long time as the music this duo serves us is simply amazing… deep trance indulging moody house tracks with acid influences… still this acid never becomes industrial as techno can be but stays on the psychedelic side of things… slow trippy stuff to dance and dream away on… headmusic for the dancefloor!

here is a new member to the et family: utroid. behind this project goes the producer who was once known as funxiun and bs-1. the biggest difference between utroid and the former projects is that the music is less hectic as before. with utroid the music moves into a more minimal direction while keeping the raw beats and rough vibe. you could call this new beat 2.0 or acid beat…. what you get are dancefloor orientated tracks that range from rather distorted to trippy and spacey…

rude 66 does not need an introduction... this dutch acid and electro veteran has been around for a long time. being part of the old school acid scene from the hague with releases on legendary label acid planet and he is one of the originals (again) when it comes to the new wave of electro in the late 1990s. two vocals tracks on the a-side with beta evers and sololust appearing as partners in crime, and on the b-side two instrumental almost trance like tracks. this is were electro, acid and a touch of old school gothic come together!
