I PROGRAM MY COMPUTER RIGHT

after the amazing view from above ep on frantic flowers we simply couldnt resist to do another project with this guy. detroit legend terrence dixon, the mastermind behind population one, is a genius in the field of minimalism and reduction. as a truly unique character from the early detroit techno era, always being true to his own style, this ep brings 4 new cuts in his typical and recognizable sound. minimalistic monotone rhythms and weird loop constructions, always with the right tension in place, sometimes topped off with spoken words. on the title track i program my computer right, a weird guitar loaded affair, terrence dixon is accompanied by ulandra & tiaria, supplying the vocals. again a very collectible release on frustrated funks harbour city sorrow!

Harbour City Sorrow
2017 altenative label art ... after his critically acclaimed frustrated funk releases >alsoran< and >vox automaton< in 2007, gerard hanson returns to la familia frustrada to drop yet another selection of his finest material. again 2 releases. this time starting with harbour city sorrow followed later with a 12 inch on frustrated funk. >lunar ruins< shows his deeper side again with skillfully crafted tracks loaded with fragile moments of elegance and beauty. the title track is already known from his amazing live sets, and was recorded around the same period as >alsoran<. typical e.r.p. basslines combined with tear jerkin strings. with >into the distance< gerard shows his love for the early dmay sound and programming style. the final track >mimosa canopy< is an experimental minimalistic track with warm pads, clean production and lots of tweaking freakyness. great release again from our humble texan friend.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF JUVENILE JAY (BLACK VINYL)
12 Inch
04.10.13
ovatow drops 3 extremely deep journeys into the fog of endless re-verb and delay applications.flame and a thought are 2 electro-techno tracks that are both build on randomly step-sequenced square bass lines, raiser sharp snares and dubbed out melodies drowned in layers of breathing dusty tape delays. visitation dub iii is a different version of an ovatow track, earlier released as part of the viewpoints chapter one compilation, but this time stripped down to the core bass line, reminiscing bcs presence. the release is dedicated to the loss of south rotterdam based dj juvenile jay who played an important roll in the early dj career of frustrated funks head honcho klen, the man behind the ovatow moniker. very much recommended!

the second offering on hcs from the mighty rotterdam based duo. again duplex drop bombs with their signature state of the art inner city techno. clearly playing with their love for the motorcity but always pushing the boundaries of what we like to call harbour city soul. 3 tracks ranging from beautiful deep electro to floor killing techno tracks. highly recommended!

Harbour City Sorrow
hot release alert by our boy paul du lac who is a long time close friend of the frustrated family, colleague at the clone office and an old dj buddy of frustrated funk label boss klen (when they played the nighttown basement in the early 90s). so it s a bit of a special thing for us having him aboard. this ep shows pauls signature minimalistic approach on chicago style house. typical jacking 707s and 808s combined with minimal synth pulses. qom and access are pure jackin bliss for the floor while moodswings goes deeper with layers of warm pads and spaced out stings. the title track comes with a stripped beats version from tevo howard, for those who like to mix things up.. highly recommended!!

Harbour City Sorrow
harbour city sorrow will showcase different sides of techno. after exploring the electro side of things we now go more towards the deeper housey side of techno. xdb (kosta athanassiadis, metrolux, sistrum) is walking on the border of various styles, creating his own unique blend of techno and house.. youll find 3 tracks of his hybrid style on here. deep sound layers and almost jackin rhythms. well crafted raw analog tracks that will appeal to the club jocks as well as the more adventurous deejay and home listener. music that is not fitting to just one main category.. just how we like it.

float away in deep space while you do your late night driving. harbour citys duplex is back on track with a serious 2 track release on the newly formed frustrated funk offshoot harbour city sorrow. a big change in studio set-up and in mindset after a period of keeping things low is clearly audible.. fresh production.. new ways of doing things.. but staying true to their own sound palette.
