31.03.17
haunter records’ 2017 kicks off with two new displays of aural expansion by longtime members of the milan-based crew. twin singles from weightausend and petit singe that also mark the label’s first ventures into 7” format. through heavy use of darkened breakbeats and angular dynamics, each of the two producers sets out to have their unique sonic approach ring on throughout the sprawl.
matthias girardi aka weightausend keeps on compiling his private neuroses in a process that seems to achieve catharsis through gloomy analysis and maniacal surgical dissection. hammering down on his dubwise tendencies and his love for the dark side of jungle, he gives out his most club-oriented work to date, channeling two new bassy rollercoasters, including a new version of “green death”.

hazina francia aka petit singe returns to give a sign of what’s to come in the very near future. her transdimentional approach is always prone to punctuate the spiritually intense quality of her taste for melody with heavy barrages of drums organized into hard-hitting grooves. each of the two tracks manages to balance in her world of feral beauty, pummeling the dancefloor while also dragging into psychedelic stupor.
ARGUMENT 03

argument #03 is the third instalment in cage suburbia’s series of argument ep’s, as well as their first 12” vinyl release. it shows the duo of haunter records’ co-founder daniele guerrini (also in heith) and matthias girardi (aka weightausend) raising the confrontation level to a new high. mixing their technoid barrage with jungle breakbeats, noise and dub techniques at various bpm speeds, they do not fail to deliver the usual amount of radical acid distortion. as with the other two ‘arguments’, this ep represents a heavy anti- authoritarian stance in both sound and concept. ‘rob the bank. kill the guards : sampling klaus maeck’s pirate cult classic ‘decoder’, cage suburbia openly call for cultural infection and street-wise spiritual resistance. this is punk rock for the paranoid age, insurrectional party music, intelligence research for the funnier side of destruction. as always, it’s been cut and edited from a series of improvisations on hardware samplers, drum machines and various sound sources, recorded live from a stereo output. comes with a set of stickers to incite riots in your neighbourhood.

weightausands music is born out of the crash between expectations and daily praxis. a dub-infused, non linear array of data in which memories, obsessions, in the shape of sound pieces borrowed from friends and collected from the most various sound sources (even cannibalizing dance music power cliches such as the amen break), are arranged to enter a psychic cage system set to take advantage of their raging power. the resulting tracks sound like jungle rave hits echoing from outside time. side b contains a doomy aquarian remix of by morkeblå, and a remix by concrete cave inhabitant heith of an unreleased track, produced with no previous listening of the original.
