the extended mixes single of phase fatale s debut full-length album on hospital productions takes three of the most dancefloor-ready songs from redeemer into abstracted, surreal and uncharted territory aimed for unlit, claustrophobic chambers. aided by silent servant with additional production, together hayden payne and juan mendez transform -order of severity,- -operate within,- and -spoken ashes- further down the machine. with more percussion and editing, they tear apart and lengthen the tracks through temporal space. the redeemer (extended mixes) 12- will be released simultaneously alongside the full-length album, adding yet another dimension into payne s own universe of the degenerated present.

phase fatale creates techno from disparate subcultures of dead industrial with a post-punk spirit, bringing back an immediacy and aggressive energy sorely missing in the contemporary electronic landscape.
with “redeemer,” the debut full length from phase fatale, conceived by dj and producer hayden payne in new york by way of berlin, deepens his exploration of the tension—both sonic and conceptual—begun on his eps released over the last three years on the jealous god and unterton labels. in intent and impact, phase fatale bears allegiance to the surreal influence of juan mendez aka silent servant, with whom payne has worked closely in collaboration.

this is the second in a reissue series of dominick fernow’s early work as rainforest spiritual enslavement, casting spells from the green amulet crafts supernatural qualities (2011) tape onto vinyl for the first time and steadily closing the gap in your rse collection.
something like the soundtrack to one of ballard’s prophetic visions of sunken cities, this second rse incursion was initially released in an edition of 63 tapes in 2011 and found fernow dwelling in a dread-fuelled, paranoid headspace.

ron morelli returns to stare down the ‘floor with four pieces written during the stress-busting sessions for ‘spit’. the muggy, droning welt of ‘public consumption’ kicks off with the sound of new york techno shot from the hip, while ‘another hit’ vents a vintage era-regis style built on skull-chipping snares and effluent acid modulation. the album’s writhing batacuda banger, ‘crack microbes’ reappears here as an extra-ferric extended version, sustaining the hypnotic intensity for nine minutes of panic attack acid and febrile cowbells, while ‘’rushing again’ escorts us to a close with triplet techno shook down by railgun snares and a grotty synthline.
