following his release on peter van hoesens time to express late last year, sp-x drops his third ep for komisch. fans of >signal path experiments< and >field lines never end< will not be disappointed as the brussels - based producer serves up three more slices of uncompromising warehouse techno. lead track <the escape< has all the sp-x hallmarks - rock hard beats, thundering claps and a swinging groove that underpins eerie riffs and clanking metallic drums >stalker< reveals a more musical slant to sp-xs sound. it starts off with unsettling riffs, but soon the rolling drum-led arrangement changes tact and provides the backdrop for a growling chord climax. there is a similar concession on >attack pattern< bruising doubled-up drums and that unmistakably snappy sp-x percussion combine with subtle snare rolls to create a peak time arrangement. but once again an insistent chord sequence gives it the edge over functional techno. make sure to hunt this killer release down

komisch welcomes another new artist to its fold for its last release of 2011.p.god aka paolo dioguardi hails from naples in italy. still in his 20s, he makes music that belies his youth and neptune iv sounds like the work of a veteran producer. lead track approaching an ocean planet sees grainy, dense beats and hypntoic bleeps take the lead, but hovering above the arrangement, tethered to the reverberated, doubled up claps, are ghostly, eerie chords. the title track adopts a similar approach, with bursts of metallic percussion underscoring spacey pads as p.god drops a droning, tunneling rhythm track. finally, geometric shadows on iced surfaces sees the young producer opt for a deeper approach. this time the chords envelop a purring groove, but the same sense of understated menace is still audible thanks to the austere hats and bleak subsonic bass. capturing jeff millss estoeric side and the hypnotic magic of sleeparchive, neptune iv is a real techno journey!

now hes back with three glorious deep techno tracks that mark the start of an interplanetary trilogy for the label. lead track >exopshere< takes up where his komisch debut left off, with foreboding, dub-tinged chords building into a menacing climax and swarms of driving, razor sharp percussion keeping the arrangement focused on the dance floor. on the flip, >deep end< sees parallel exploring more esoteric sounds, with swirling, layered chords underpinned by dubbed out drums, heavy claps and hissing percussion, like an update of classic sterac material. >analogue city< brings a mellow end to the release. deep pads and ghostly sounds hover above a warm, splurging bassline that recalls underground resistance in mellow, tripped out mode. if youre looking for the classic sounds reinterpreted for contemporary techno dance floors, then make sure to get an audience with the >cosmic observer<.

following the success of his debut ep, komisch is delighted to put out the next instalment from sp-x. like his first release, the three tracks on field lines never end capture the essence of contemporary techno - austere and functional, yet deeply resonating. field construction starts with crackle of a broken power cable accompanying brittle percussion and a juggernaut rhythm, before dank filters, distorted riffs and a combination of doubled up claps and hissing hats bring the track to an irresistibly dark climax. internalize follows a similar path, but straight away sp-x plots a more ominous course, with a muffled filter making way for jarring riffs, a grubby acid line and killer claps. last but certainly not least, flux is constructed using dense rhythms, deadweight, iron bar beats and a howling siren riff that sounds like it came from beyond. all the while, sp-xs rasping, firing percussion weaves in and out. these are deadly effective techno tracks, streamlined for use on big speakers - but dont take our word for it, try them out yourselves!

the third komisch release is by the parallel. with a string of digital releases to his credit, this talented new producer now makes his vinyl debut.
>abyss< gets down to business,as spacey textures melt into billowing chord sequences, underpinned by spiky claps and intricately woven pitchbent percussion. by the time the massive kick arrives, the seduction is complete.
>mind reverse< is focused on the floor, its stomping beats and metallic, robotic synths becoming increasingly more claustrophobic until the track breaks into a ghostly breakdown.
