lumièreslanuit (lln) is glad to introduce to you to samochai (llnoff004), 4th release of its off series by bremen-based music composers and djs massud matin & smisou. samochai ep presents two different atmospheres that lumièreslanuit and its off series are particularly fond of: deep- and dub-techno. indeed, whereas massud matin take us out of ourselves with the deep, atmospheric and mind-blowing beats of zal, smisou imm­­erses us in his musical world with the dubby, cadenced and aquatic beats of chanj. massud matin & smisou celebrate the same music since 2012. the beginning of their collaboration was marked by a couple of digital releases like smisou’s remix of massud matin’s come on (2015) and his keemun ep (2016) — in collaboration with miynn — on samani that also includes a remix by massud matin. more recently, massud matin & smisou released parand de muth on brosh records. finally, in december 2017, massud matin brought out his first vinyl ep like you (tprl03) on romanian label tupiar records.

lumiÞreslanuit (alias lln) is glad to welcome back paris-based music composer, live performer and dj vadim svoboda for the 10th release of the label. in addition to be a close friend of the lln crew and a regular of the label’s showcases, vadim svoboda has also become a key artist of the label. indeed, it’s with him that it has all started, about three years ago, when he released his syntherapie ep (lln000) on the label. nine releases (plus one) later, we’re glad to have him again on board, this time with another format as he’s about to release his first album seed (lln009+1). seed is made up of two records: roots (vinyl 1: lln009) and canopy (vinyl 2: lln009+1). whereas roots sounds like a mini-album in the album where melodic and melancholic notes alternates with dark and strong beats, canopy seems - according to its composition - to refer directly to his syntherapie ep, even though the listener might find the same inspirations in both records.

lumièreslanuit is glad to welcome back french berlin-based music producer and live performer roisner. one year after his piano roll ep (lln003) that was released on the occasion of lumièreslanuit s i anniversary, roisner delivers this time a more dance floordriven ep while keeping some basic components that make his piano roll release so poignant and touching.

lumièreslanuit is glad to welcome istanbul-based duo bärtaub (mutlu san & batuhan güler) for the 6th release of the label. as in most of the duos, each of the members has his speciality. whereas mutlu focuses primarely on the music production, batu is known by istanbuls house/techno aficionados as a restless dj. bärtaubs debut ep is called rhizome (type of plant root) not without reason. beats, melodies and bassline jump over, crawl under and draw apart from each other in unexpected and non-hierarchical ways. in the end, they all come together in a harmonious manner that creates an overall of excitingly playful forest-like atmosphere.

key artist of the lumie&#768,,,,,reslanuit (lln) booking agency, david is also becoming a key artist for the label. right after his remix of roisner s piano roll ep (lln003) for the london-based label first year anniversary special release, david k is back with a solo ep: wrung door (lln004). according to david: wrung door oscillates between cold and warm, deep and groovy universes with a strong industrial touch, whereas lightly dark mimics the musical elements of wrung door but uses them in a different way in order to guide the listener to a different world. finally, broken swatch is a rather narrative and lyrical track. in summary, wrung door (lln004) gathers in one ep the two different sides that lumie&#768,,,,,reslanuit aims at developing: one refined and crisp and one dancefloor-driven.

it was very important for me to give a dub-ish colour to this ep and propose something different than what people already know from me.‘pressure feed’ is a tribute to all maurizio’s tracks which i never get bored listening or playing. regarding ‘water flood’, i wanted to produce something simple that stands far from the traditional 4/4 beat. i wanted to make it a break beat on the kick while bringing refined ambiance and atmospheric patches to it. finally, ‘cold atom’ is the result of a permanent rhythmic evolution that embodies the vision i have of an astral trip, both dub and intense.- yakine

roger gerressen about his project >lunar phases< : -when thinking about the lights of the night the first thing that came to my mind was the moon. you look at it daily and we are all affected by it so much. since the project contains eight tracks and the moon travels through eight phases every month it seemed like an obvious choice to choose this subject for the lp. the first part of the lp is the >new moon<, when the people (and the music) are mellow and relaxed. the second part of the lp is darker, faster and more chaotic, which is more likely to be the effect a >full moon< has on people.-
